England selection opportunity for Under 18 mountain runners
The World Mountain Running Association (WMRA) will be holding their 2018 International Youth Cup in Lanzada, Italy this year. England Athletics will be sending a team of up to 4 under 18 men and 4 under 18 women to compete.
The junior Coiners fell race has been nominated as the selection race for the IYC team. This takes place near Hebdon Bridge in Yorkshire, on 7th May. The first 3 junior men and 3 junior women will gain IYC selection from this trial race with the remaining places to be decided by the selectors. (Note: athletes must be born within the years 2001/2002; younger athletes are not eligible.)
The trial is the primary means of selection but if athletes wish to be considered but can’t make the trial, they need to contact the Chair Alec Duffield (alec@duffsports.com) ahead of the trial.
