Aldershot, Farnham and District AC complete a seniors double
The National Road Relays, organised by the ERRA, took place at Sutton Park at the weekend and once again showcased some of the best English club athletes. Aldershot Farnham & District AC took both men's and women's titles and six different clubs took the honours in the age group events.
Women
The women's 4-stage took place over 4.33k and it was Aldershot Farnham & District A who clamined a fine victory in a combined time of 59:03. In an exciting race AFD's 'A' team worked their way through the field from 15th place at the end of leg 1 run by Ruby Woolfe (14:48), to 5th after Pippa Roessler's (14:51), with Louise Small running 14:53 on leg 3 to move them to 2nd and Lily Coward running 14:31 to take the win. On a fantastic day for AFD their B team finished 2nd in 1:00:14 and Lincoln Wellington finished 3rd in 1:00:29

Men
The men’s six-stage took place over 5.848k. Again was Aldershot Farnham & District ‘A’ who took the win with a combined time of 1:42:44. Again it was a balanced team performance which saw them home. Josh Grace's first leg of 17:09 saw AFD in 8th place, Ricky Harvie worked through the field running 17:17 to finish leg 2 in 2nd, Ben Bradley's 17:14 saw them take the lead on leg 3 which was held through the legs of Adam Clarke (17:03), Ellis Cross (17:28) and Jack Rowe with a storming 16:33 to finish. Runners up were Leeds City AC ‘A’ with a time of 1:43:47 and Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers took third in 1:44:06.
