In each workshop two athletes will complete a laboratory assessment to identify physiological variables including maximum/peak oxygen uptake, running economy, lactate threshold, and lactate turnpoint. Andi will discuss the role of physiological testing and how its application may inform coaching decisions.

Movement skills workshops 1 and 2 are aimed at assisting all leaders / coaches at all qualification levels, for all different ability and age of the athletes they are working with - from a 12-year-old multi-eventer to the senior international discus thrower, to the recreational road runner attempting their first 10km race.

A charity evening is being organised by Birchfield Harriers to raise money for the McCook Fund aims to support junior athletes from under-privileged backgrounds. The fundraising event features a live music with a Ceilidh band, burgers (including vegetarian) and a bar and raffle.
The masterclass will discuss marathon training and preparation and will be to a small group of coaches to allow for one to one conversations and advice from one of the country's leading Marathon Runners.

A body of 'best practice' is emerging, based on experience gained in integrating the knowledge and resources into training programmes. This is a practical workshop aimed at rehearsing and sharing lessons learned.
