Nominations open for our Volunteer Awards 2020

WHO WILL YOU NOMINATE FOR THE 2020 REGIONAL VOLUNTEER AWARDS?

Nominations for our 2020 Regional Volunteer Awards have opened today so you have until 28 June to decide who you will put forward to be considered for one of our nine awards this year:

Athletics or Running Club of the Year: Recognising both the achievements of a club, as well as demonstrating ongoing commitment and passion through the opportunities they have given to everyone involved in the club over the last 12 months.

Coach of the Year: Recognising an individual who has demonstrated their passion and commitment for coaching within athletics and running.

Leader of the Year: Recognising an individual who has demonstrated their passion and commitment for leading within athletics and running.

Official of the Year: Recognising an enthusiastic official who makes a brilliant contribution to Athletics in their local area, club or region.

Volunteer of the Year: Recognising the efforts of a volunteer who is seen as invaluable within their club, local area or region.

Young Volunteer of the Year: Recognising the efforts and achievement of a young volunteer (14-25) who is making significant contributions to their local club, area or region.

RunTogether Group of the Year: Recognising a RunTogether Group that provides friendly, supportive and welcoming group running opportunities in their community.

Services to Athletics or Running: Recognising long-term outstanding service to the sport from an individual or group of individuals.

Athletics and Running @Home: Recognising an individual/club/ group of members who helped support their local community to stay active during the global pandemic.

As your membership and development body, we have been working to help you stay active and keep connected to the athletics and running family while our clubs have had to shut their doors and competitions have been postponed.

Many of you have joined in with our Athletics and Running @home programme and helped share our first Home School Pack to help primary school aged children learn the fundamental skills of running, jumping and throwing with our funetics programme.

All of this wouldn’t have happened without your support and enthusiasm for sharing your love of our amazing sport.  Our Volunteer Awards this year will acknowledge this contribution with a new award category based on community support given through our Athletics and Running @home programme.  In addition, we will be recognising those volunteers, coaches, officials, RunTogether groups and long-term service by individuals who have helped make us proud since nominations closed in June last year for the 2019 awards.

Simply click here to nominate, complete the form, and submit your nomination for the Volunteer Awards 2020.  Remember these nominations cover the period 1st July 2019 – 28th June 2020.

You can nominate in more than one category: just fill out a separate nomination form for each category for which you wish to make a nomination. Multiple nominations should not be made for the same individual / group in the same category.

Nominations close at 12pm 28 June 2020.

The Volunteer Awards 2020 are your chance to celebrate and recognise the unsung heroes amongst all of our volunteers in the athletics and running community. #BetterTogether
