Cross Country teams
Our Policy is to support English athletes in their ongoing development who are on an upward trajectory by offering opportunities and experience competing for England in international cross country competition either in the UK or abroad.
2024/2025 representative opportunities
The English Cross Country Association have now selected fixtures for representative teams for the coming winter. This has been based on the current domestic and championship fixture list with a view to trying to benefit those athletes who are likely to be either in contention, or on the fringe, of making the international championship teams. - 27 October: Roeselare (near Lille), Belgium Cross Cup
Selection date: 7 October
Travel: Eurostar from St Pancras to Lille. Traveling out Saturday lunchtime returning Sunday evening.
Selection based on: form last winter from January 2024 and to include showing some current form particularly the English National in September this year, also other form on road and country but with a history of competing on the country. - 5 January 2025: Elgoibar, Northern Spain
Selection date: 8 December)
Travel: fly to Bilbao, Northern Spain. Best flights TBD. However, we are unlikely to get a return flight until Monday morning due to limited number of flights to the UK on Sunday post-race.
Selection based on: Liverpool European Cross Trial and current form this winter. - 25 January 2025: Hannut, Belgium
Selection date: 5 January
Travel: Eurostar from St Pancras to Brussels. Traveling out Saturday lunchtime returning Sunday evening.
Selection based on: Liverpool Trial and current form this winter. - 8 February 2025: Temple Newsam, Leeds, Home Countries International and Area Match in conjunction with UK Cross Challenge.
Selection date: 25 January
Travel: Self-transport within the UK; ECCA travel expenses to be paid

Selection information
Our policy is to support English athletes in their development who are on an upward trajectory by offering opportunities and experience competing in international cross country competition either in the UK or abroad.
Athletes are expected to have competed at Liverpool in the European Cross Country Trial 2023/24, or if unable to do so demonstrated ambition by competing previously in the National Cross Country or European Cross Country Trial.
We are looking for athletes who have showed ambition historically in the discipline of cross country.
