British Masters Athletic Federation
The BMAF is a Federation of geographically located clubs covering England (as well as the other home nations) with over 5,000 active athletes aged 35 upwards.
The British Masters Athletic Federation, and its operating company BMAF Services Ltd, offer athletes the opportunity to compete in 5-year age bands for the rest of their lives.
Track & field and running championships take place at regional level via their eleven area clubs, nationally via BMAF Services Ltd and internationally via the governing bodies for European and World Masters Athletics.
The BMAF are opening their national championships to any athletes. Athletes can register and enter via the BMAF website and pay a small extra fee as ‘open’ athletes. Alternatively, athletes can join an area club for a modest annual subscription, compete in their regional championships as well as national championships for a lower entry fee. To compete internationally athletes should join an area club. Masters area club membership will sit comfortably alongside your first claim club membership.
The BMAF is also offering an incentive to clubs who are encouraging individual entries into BMAF championship events. Clubs can enter three-person teams (of either gender) in age bands 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65-74 and 75+ in a number of races each year. These team entries are free of charge to clubs (with the exception of ‘blue riband’ road relays in Spring and cross country relays in Autumn).
