England Athletics have launched a Coaching Resource area available through Athletics Hub. The coaching resources area forms a key part of England Athletics’ digital strategy and supports the development of coaches in England by providing free-to-access streaming video and text-based coaching materials.
Once logged in to Athletics Hub, existing users will be served up with a selection of high-quality video content through the MyDashboard tab as well as being able to access and browse the full range of coaching resources themselves via the Coaching Resources tab. Brand new users can also access the resources through the Coaching Resources tab and, as they use the platform more, the system will start to serve up recommend videos into their MyDashboard tab.
Coaches can save content using a ‘favourite’ function and can also be able to update their interests so that they can tailor their user experience and ensure the content they are seeing is the most relevant content to them. In addition, the intuitive technology within Athletics Hub will enables it to push suggested coaching resources to users based on content they have viewed or in line with qualifications or coaching development courses that they book onto.
The Coaching Resources area includes a range of content covering each of the core event groups – Speed, Endurance, Jumps and Throws. Videos available include presentations from World Class coaches, including the likes of Toni Minichiello, Scott Simpson and Trevor Painter as well as resources focused on disability athletics, combined events, movement skills and youth coaching.
Recognising that coaches are often on the move and away from home, the coaching resources are optimised to work on desktop, tablet and mobile devices. New content is released on a monthly basis in order to continually expand the resources available and ensure coaches can benefit from fresh material throughout the year.
