Shadowing Success - Officials' Taster Sessions

England Athletics are launching a new project aimed at giving people first-hand experience officiating at one of our National Championship events throughout the year. This is open to anyone who is interested in officiating, and would like to give it a try, shadowing one of our experienced officials at an England Athletics championship event in a variety of disciplines and events.

What’s involved on the day?

Once you apply, and have been selected for an event, you will receive an email with all event details. You will arrive in the morning of the event to attend the briefing with Championship Officials. You will then be given your personal timetable for the day. You can then start Assisting officials at events – rotating around each event at the Championship. Once you have finished for the day, you will be given a list of Level 1 Officials course opportunities, which you can attend free of charge. You will also be given the details of a local official who will mentor you and help to continue your officiating journey.
