Under-20 team selected for the Trofeo Opitergium
England Athletics is delighted to announce the team selected to compete at the European Under 20 Road Race at the Trofeo Opitergium on 1 May. The race will see the England teams competing against some of Europe's best Under 20 athletes in a team competition over 5k and 10k.
Isobelle Jones (Wolverhampton & Bilston) ran 16:06 over 5k and finished 3rd at the Mini Marathon in 2023 and comes into the race off the back of a strong cross country season. Zoe Gilbody (Wreake & Soar Valley) set a 3000m PB of 9:36.43 and was a top 10 finisher at the English Schools Cross Country and Intercounties. Charlotte Dillon (Houghton Harriers) ran a big 5k PB of 16:42 in August and finished 8th at the Intercounties in March.
Quinn Miell-Ingram (Radley AC) is selected after running 30:09 over 10k at the England Champs in Telford in December and setting a recent 5k PB of 14:25. Freddie Roden (Abbey Runners Leeds) is also an athlete in fine form over the 10km distance running an impressive 30:47 in March. Mark Ruby (Poole AC) is selected after running 14:42.99 over 5000m last year and placing strongly in the senior race at BUCS Cross Country in February. Henry Pickard (Stockport) completes the team after an excellent run at Armagh 5k in February to set a 5k PB of 14:36.
