Team England statement on long jumper, D'mitri Varlack
Unfortunately, due to an eligibility issue, England Athletics and UKA, were informed earlier this week that D’mitri Varlack will not be able to compete at the Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games.
D’mitri had previously been successful in transferring allegiance from British Virgin Islands to GB/England but is only eligible to compete from 16 April 2025 due to a waiting period required by World Athletics rules, which rules him out of this competition.
Whilst an immediate appeal to the decision (applying a period of waiting) was submitted, unfortunately, it has been unsuccessful. Team England and England Athletics are supporting D’mitri and his family during their time at the Games and look forward to seeing him compete in England colours in the future.
