Supporting the future of frame running
England Athletics has recently hosted a Frame Running Development Day, with the aim of bringing more people to the event and support their ongoing development.
Frame running will make its Paralympic debut at the LA games in 2028, making these development opportunities even more important and exciting.
Held at the Alexander Stadium, the development day was a resounding success. Led by Matt Kendrick, Phil Fleetwood and Jake Foster, a large number of the frame running community attended and were keen to participate and collaborate to develop a plan to build frame running across England.
It was a day of firsts for all involved; it was the first meeting of its kind for England Athletics with the frame running community in one space, as well as the first time frame runners and coaches have gathered to provide input on how to develop the event.
The day began with a successful coach conference, with all parties participating in the conversation of how to progress the event over the coming years and having clear objectives for both the community and the England Athletics Para team to achieve.

The coach conference was followed by a session on the track for all athletes in attendance - led by specialist frame running coach, Phil Fleetwood. Athletes were taken through alternative warm-ups, technical development and were able to leave with videos for athletes and coaches to analyse and learn from.

Matt Kendrick, National Para Athletics Manager, said:
"This was the first day in what will become a regular fixture in the England Athletics development calendar. At England Athletics, we are very much looking forward to the continued development of frame running nationally and collaborating more with the community in the future."
