Season’s Greetings from England Athletics
As the weather starts to change and another year draws to a close, attention turns to the festive season. Christmas is the perfect opportunity to look back on another year and reflect with those you hold most dear. And that is exactly what we hope to do this Christmas with our England Athletics family.
From an outstanding series of performances at the Commonwealth Youth Games from Team England, to hosting all-party parliamentary receptions in Westminster, Liverpool and Lewisham to our recent Regional Volunteer Awards celebrating the achievements of unsung heroes, there is no doubt that 2023 has been a great year for England Athletics.
See just a few of the highlights from across our sport in our CHRISTMAS acrostic. Throughout the month of December, we will be releasing a series of written articles and videos. Take a look at all that we have achieved as a sport over the past 12 months.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank every single one of our members. From athletes and runners joining their local club for the first time, to those competing on an international level and winning medals for their country, our sport wouldn’t be what it is today without you. Equally, athletics and running would not survive without the outstanding contribution of volunteers - coaches, officials, event organisers, club committee members and countless other roles. Thank you for all that you do to support athletes and runners across the country.
For now, all that remains to say is season’s greetings from everyone at England Athletics. May you have a wonderful festive period filled with joy, laughter and, of course, athletics and running!
