Primary PE and Sport Premium confirmed for 2021/2022

funetics is pleased to share some FUNtastic news from the Department of Education. They have confirmed that the primary PE and Sport Premium will continue for the next academic year (2021/22).

The PE and sport premium will continue at £320 million next year. It also means that schools will be able to carry over underspends until July 2022. This is to prioritise children’s athletics activities as part their recovery.

Lots of primary school sports coaches, providers and clubs joined the funetics programme during the pandemic. Covid restrictions are lifting next month or for the return of the new academic year in September. The funetics team couldn’t be more ready and excited to help primary school children to be active and learning by engaging with athletics activities. funetics is supporting schools to make the most of this funding. It’s important to understand the powerful role of primary sport coaching and PE in improving the health and well-being of young children.
