Mountain running team selected for Nasego World Cup
We are pleased to announce a team selected to compete at the 2024 Nasego Mountain Running World Cup in Italy (the Trofeo Nasego Corsa in Montagna) on 31 August to 1 September. This will also incorporate a team competition against Scotland and Ireland, which the organisers want to expand in future years.
The two-day event involves two races which makes for a tough weekend, the first race is uphill only over 4.2km and 1000m of ascent, then the following day it’s an up and down race over 21km and over 1300m of ascent. Some of the team will compete in both events.
Team Manager Mark Croasdale said: "This is the first time England Athletics has sent a team to this prestigious mountain race weekend in Italy and it will be a fantastic experience, as well as a very tough weekend for all the team."
