Chris Holdsworth last represented England at the Snowdon International mountain race in 2018 finishing 2nd, in the same year he also represented GB&NI at the World Long Distance Mountain Championships in Italy. After struggling with an injury Chris is back in form and finished 2nd at the trial race at Pendleton, Max Nicholls has a wealth of experience running on the mountains, having represented England and GB&NI as a junior and senior at the World Mountain Running Championships. Max was 1st at this year’s Inter Counties' Fell Running Championships. Max Wainwright had an outstanding run to finish 4th in the recent trial ahead of many experienced athletes, he’s also the leading U23 athlete in the British and English Fell Running Championships, this will be is his first England vest. Will Marshall is probably our least experienced athlete and will also be making his England debut, he has the unenviable task of combining university in London and racing on the Mountains.

Phillipa Williams had a fantastic race to win our recent trial having only competed 3 times on the fells before, Phillipa has also been excelling on the roads and in May won the Sunderland Half Marathon in a very impressive 76mins 40sec. Kate Maltby has represented GB&NI at the World Mountain Running Championships 3 times in the past, but hasn’t run on the mountains for 5 years so to finish 2nd at the recent England trial at Pendleton was a superb run. Emma Gould represented GB&NI at the European Mountain Running Championships in Zermatt in July and was 3rd in the recent trial at Pendleton to gain selection. Last season Emma won the bronze medal that the European Championships in Macedonia as well as representing GB&NI at the World Championships. Jemima Elgood has represented England on the mountains as a junior and made her senior debut at this year’s Snowdon International Mountain race finishing a 11th. Jemima has also run an impressive 35mins 33sec 10km this season and is our leading u23 athlete.
