Masters team announced for Swansea
We are pleased to announce a comprehensive Masters team to compete in the England Masters vest on 8 June. The Masters representative race takes place in Swansea against Wales as part of the popular Swansea Half Marathon.
All those in the team have competed in one of the five qualification races, and have also achieved the relevant time standard in the past three months.
Find out more about our Masters programme180 Masters athletes in age categories from V35 to V80 will be starting in front of the iconic Swansea Arena, then the route takes runners from the heart of the city and out towards the Mumbles, before returning to finish in the Waterfront area of the city.
Speaking about the upcoming race, England Masters Road Running Programme Coordinator, Chris Hollinshead, said:
"This is the first time Wales have hosted the Masters half marathon and I am looking forward to visiting Swansea with the England team. The programme is continuing to grow in popularity and for this year we have another first as we welcome the United Kingdom Armed Forces (UKAF) to the competition. UKAF comprises of armed forces personel from the Army, Navy and RAF."
