March 2026: Performance round up
March wrapped up the 2026 indoor track and field action on both a domestic and world stage. With strong performances across the board this indoor season, we cannot wait for outdoors to begin! Catch up on our competition highlights from this month in our March performance round up.
Impressive performances indoors
Our 2026 England Indoor Championships were concluded with the U15/U17 Indoor Combined Events and Para Championships. The weekend of competition saw lots of personal bests, changes in the leader and exciting finishes. To round off the weekend, there was also a new World Record set by John Wright (Northern Masters) in the M65 400m.
Day one report Day two reportThe World Indoor Championships saw some brilliant performances from English athletes, including a trio of golden moments on super Sunday. Molly Caudery (Thames Valley, Scott Simpson) soared to pole vault gold, Georgia Hunter Bell (Belgrave Harriers, Trevor Painter) claimed the 1500m crown, and Keely Hodgkinson (Leigh, Trevor Painter) dominated the 800m final.

England teams dominated at the Anglo-Celtic Plate 100k competition. In the women’s race, Katie Young (Fulham Running Club, Neil Bryant) and Nicole Funnell (Springfield Striders, Edwina Sutton) went out strong together and maintained their lead, which meant that with teammates Fiona Cook (West Cheshire AC) and Sophie Power (Guildford and Godalming AC, Edwina Sutton) finishing in 5th and 7th respectively the team secured gold. The men’s team also performed well to take the team title.
