International senior debuts at IFAM Gent Indoors

Last weekend a team of thirteen athletes travelled to Belgium to compete at the IFAM Gent Indoor Meeting. For eleven of these athletes, it was their senior international debut and an excellent opportunity to kickstart their indoor season.

Part of the World Athletics Tour as a bronze level competition, the fast-paced meeting attracted athletes from across the world. With personal best performances and spots in finals secured, it was a fantastic opportunity for all of the athletes at this early point in the year.

Team Leader for the competition, Hayley Hemmings, said:

“This opportunity was a great experience for all athletes to not only take advantage of the competition but also a chance to experience an international team meeting. Feedback from all athletes have been extremely positive in learning key lessons for future competitions.”

This competition not only attracted some top athletes from Europe and further afield, but also many English athletes from across the Talent Pathway.
