Herbert Czingon is the latest industry expert to join the list of stellar keynote speakers for our Jumps and Throws International Conference on 25 & 26 March 2023, at Loughborough University.

To secure your place now at the Conference, themed ‘Coaching the Adaptable Athlete’, either as a delegate attending in person or as an online delegate, visit our conference page. Please note places are limited, therefore, we advise those wanting to attend should sign-up early to avoid disappointment.

The world-leading strategist in high performance coaching will join the two-day event in providing two presentations as well as a practical session.

His first session will focus on coaching talented junior athletes and the key learnings in the successful transition to senior success.

In his second presentation, titled ‘Coaching the Individual’, he will highlight the difference, he found, between coaching male and female athletes. Although the context of these presentations will be on pole vault and combined events, the key messages and learning will be for all coaches operating in the talent pathway.

Finally, Czingon will deliver a coaching masterclass with invited athletes on the talent pathway. This will be a wonderful opportunity for attendees to observe and ask questions on his coaching approach. These sessions will be supported and facilitated by Scott Simpson, the head of field and combined events for UK Athletics.

Czingon has previously held roles as head of field events and national pole vault coach in both Germany and Switzerland, where he developed many Olympic and world-class male and female athletes, including Günther Lohre, Nicole Rieger-Humbert, Yvonne Buschbaum, Caroline Hingst, Christine Adams, Angelica Moser, and Dominik Alberto.

After retiring in 2020, he now continues to consult with World Athletics on coach education and advise to pole vaulters.

The England Athletics Jumps and Throws Conference on 25 and 26 March 2023 will take place at Loughborough University and the Burleigh Court Hotel. The theme of the conference is titled, ‘Coaching the Adaptable Athlete.’ As well as featuring leading practitioners as keynote speakers, the conference will include practical sessions from those in their field of expertise, looking at the development of the athlete.

We will be confirming additional keynote speakers and guest experts attending the conference in due course.
