England select a strong team of eight for the Antrim Coast Half Marathon

England Athletics are delighted to announce a strong team of eight athletes to compete at the Antrim Coast Half Marathon on Sunday 28 August.

The World Athletics Elite Label race takes place over a fast course on the beautiful coast road between Larne and Ballygally and has attracted some of the world's best distance runners over the last two years.

The England team is led by Chloe Richardson (Birchfield/RAF) and Nigel Martin as both build to the European 50k Championships representing Great Britain.

Richardson has a half marathon best of 73:47 and is selected after finishing fifth at the Commonwealth Games & European Championship Marathon trial in April, clocking a new PB of 2:33:25.

Nigel Martin represented England in the 2021 race, finishing fifth in an excellent field. The Sale Harrier has been in good form in 2022 having run 29:13 at Night of the 10000m PBs and finishing sixth at the Commonwealth Games & European Championship Marathon trial in Manchester with a new PB of 2:15:19.

Mollie Williams (Stockport Harriers) is selected following an excellent 2022 so far, setting PBs from 5km up to half. Her 33:11 at Trafford 10km in March and 74:19 at Wrexham Elite Half in April secured her place on the team.

Jack Gray (Cambridge & Coleridge) is a man with previous England experience and is selected after running 64:53 at Barcelona Half in April and winning a silver medal at the England 10000m Championships in June.

Kate Drew (Taunton AC) achieves her selection after an excellent 12 months of progression, including winning Reading Half Marathon in 74:36 and setting a big 10km PB of 33:58 at Speedway 10km in January.

Joe Morwood (Aldershot, Farnham & District) is selected after running a big personal best at Farnborough Half Marathon, finishing fourth in 64;53.

Alison Lavender (Oswestry) joins the team following a PB of 75:18 at Wilmslow Half Marathon in March and an excellent PB over 5km in April. Jonathan Cornish (Hercules Wimbledon) is an athlete with extensive experience and is selected after an excellent year of racing including a 29:22 10km PB in January.
