Club Support Managers in the community

Did you know we have seven Club Support Managers dedicated to clubs in their region?

England Athletics’ seven-strong Club Support team provides a valuable and comprehensive service to our clubs: engaging in two-way conversation; acting upon club feedback; providing support and guidance; and ensuring that our affiliated clubs are well-placed to grow and thrive.

Each month, our team is out and about, up and down the country, visiting clubs in-person as regularly as possible, alongside their ongoing digital communications with clubs.

Below is a round-up of their activity in October:

The team’s activity this month included visits to Scarborough AC, Stratford-upon-Avon AC, Cheltenham and County Harriers, Run Sandymoor, Wallsend Harriers, The Stragglers RC, and Hercules Running and Tri Club.

In total, across the month:

Emma Hurst, Senior Club Support Manager, said:

"We’ve had a fantastic month. The Regional Volunteer Awards – which finished in October – always provide a genuine feel-good factor, and so much inspiration. Our team have loved meeting and celebrating with volunteers over the past few weeks.

"They’ve also been able to get out and about to support various clubs in their regions, and that activity will intensify over the coming months, as – in particular – we look to support clubs in achieving Club Standard 6: safeguarding.

"This becomes a mandatory requirement for clubs next year, and as such, our team has created Club Hub content, delivered national, virtual clinics and regional webinars, and have offered direct, one-to-one support to clubs in their region.

"We have also supported clubs with facility-based developments, with Goole AC, Luton AC and Ilford AC among those to benefit from this during October."

As always, we would encourage clubs to get in touch with their Club Support Manager if they have would like support with club standards or club support matters:
