Over 40 road running clubs have benefitted from England Athletics' Club Run programme this Autumn.
Club Run links off track road running clubs with an experienced England Athletics coach. Over a series of three sessions, either physical or virtual, the Club Run coach and club work in partnership to deliver engaging sessions for club members but also provide practical advice and support to the club's coaches and run leaders. Club Run coaches have included Olympian Aly Dixon, England and GB athletes and coaches John Beattie and Lewis Moses and experienced England Athletics tutors including Kerry Newell and Matt Long.
Coach and England and GB athlete Jo Wilkinson teamed up with Garden City Runners.
Jo was a brilliant coach. She commanded attention without needing to raise her voice because the way she put everything across engaged and held our interest.....she stuck around late after each session, patiently and enthusiastically dealing with all our questions until we had no more...our chief club coaches Martha Hall and Dave Edwards were very impressed and have been including some of what we have learned into our regular sessions going forward. We could not have wished for a better coach to deliver the sessions, and are very thankful to you all for giving us the opportunity.
England Athletics tutor Chris Hollinshead worked with Sphinx AC.
On behalf of Sphinx AC, can I say a big thanks for taking your time out to visit Sphinx AC and deliver a great and enjoyable session for us all last night. You have a great knack to get people working hard whilst keeping a smile on their faces. Everyone enjoyed it and I hope you did too. Feedback from the victims members was very positive.
Aly Dixon led three sessions with Aycliffe RUnning Club:
Another fantastic Club Run session with Aly Dixon tonight. A HUGE thanks to Aly for three quality sessions she has delivered as part fo the Club Run programme. Aly's thoughts, advice and time has been very much appreciated.
