Antrim Coast Half Marathon: team selection
England Athletics are delighted to announce a strong team of eight athletes to compete at the Antrim Coast Half Marathon on 21 March.
The Antrim Coast Half Marathon takes place on a beautiful flat, fast course along the wild Northern Irish coastline at Larne. The race provides a great opportunity for England athletes to gain further international experience whilst also running a quick time as a part of their key spring racing calendar.

The women’s team is led by Lucy Reid (Tonbridge, Richard Owen). Reid was selected after a fantastic run to finish 2nd at Granollers Half Marathon in February and arrives fresh off the back of a new PB of 72:49 set at last weekend’s Big Half Marathon. Alison Lavender (Oswestry, Andrew Walling) is rewarded for her superb recent form including winning Brampton to Carlisle 10 in 56:00 and setting a 10km PB of 34:03 to finish 2nd at Speedway 10km. 2018 England Half Marathon Champion Katherine Wood (Sale Harriers, Liz Yelling) won Maidenhead Half Marathon in 75:25 and will be looking to build upon fine 2019 which saw her finish 8th at the Stockholm Marathon and 18th at Dublin Marathon. Kirsty Longley (Liverpool Pembroke Sefton, Mark Bleasdale) is selected after some excellent recent performances including a 2nd place finish at Four Villages Half Marathon, a 10km PB of 33:35 at Telford and winning the Merseyside XC Championships.
The men’s team is led by 2018 England 10000m champion Ollie Lockley (Leeds, Dave Lockley) whose PB of 63:01 set at Valencia Half saw him finish 5th on the UK rankings in 2019. Lockley represented England at the Tout Rennes Court 10km in October, finishing 2nd. Joshua Grace (Aldershot, Farnham & District, Geoff Watkin) achieves selection after a fine 2019 including a 4th place finish at Manchester Half Marathon in 64:27 and setting a PB of 28:59 at Valencia 10km in December. After an excellent 15th place finish at the Great North Run in 64:25 Joshua Lunn (Bedford & County, Simon Goodwin) is selected after setting a PB at Speedway 10km in January running 29:44. Ben Johnson (Run Fast, Nick Anderson) is rewarded after an impressive 2019 which saw him set a half marathon PB of 65:22 in Manchester before a big performance at Valencia Marathon where he finished in 2:17:35.
