England Athletics Relay Championships

Once again Birchfield Harriers are hosting the England Athletics Relay Championships, after a successful inaugural event in 2024, this will become a main fixture in the England Athletics Championship calendar. Held at the prestigious Alexander Stadium there really is an electric feel as athletes, clubs and parents all come together to cheer on their teams.

West Midlands Regional Council Chair and Birchfield Harrier volunteer spoke about the championships:

“We are excited to work alongside England Athletics once again to host the England Athletics Relay Championships. We hope to build on the success of last year by hosting a really competitive series of races with clubs from across the country. This year we will introduce new events including the universal relay, sprint hurdles relay and a 4x800m.”

Shani Palmer, Event Group Lead for Speed, said:

“It’s a fantastic competition which helps to support growing enthusiasm around relays nationally. The pilot event in 2024 was very well attended with some excellent performances. It was fun to watch, and the athletes thoroughly enjoyed the experience, I’m looking forward to seeing the event return in 2025.”

    • Date: 17 August 2025, Alexander Stadium

    • Invites: Invites will be issued no later than the week commencing the 4 August, so you still have time to prepare!
