A wet and windy Armagh International Road Race didn't dampen England's spirits

Renowned as one of the fastest road races in the world, this year’s event was a highly anticipated. Attracting athletes from all over, the calibre of those on the start list was the best in the history of the event.

As always Armagh put on a fantastic show and this year was no different. With fierce racing from the gun in challenging conditions, all of the English athletes acquitted themselves well with some fantastic performances.

The women's team won gold in the international team competition in impressive style with three in the top ten and all four in the top 15. The men narrowly missed out on team gold, finishing just behind a very strong Northern Ireland team to take a fantastic silver.

Team manager, Vicky Griffiths, said:

"Congratulations to all the athletes and their coaches on their selection for this prestigious event. Despite the poor weather conditions, everyone produced fantastic performances resulting in podium finishes for both teams in the international competition!"
