quotemark startOn behalf of England Athletics, I’d like to thank you for everything that you have done as technical officials during the last 18 months. It’s been a tough time for everyone working in athletics and running across England but we’ve come through it stronger together and we’ve gradually brought our sport back with over 1,500 track and field licenced competitions taking place in England this year.

We’ve also supported more than 2,000 licenced road races. Without volunteers and technical officials to run these events, it would be impossible! We hope that the autumn and winter season will be relatively normal as we licence more cross country events and bring more road races back to our streets. We also hope that we have a wonderful indoor season in 2022 as we look towards a home Commonwealth Games that will take place next August - a real celebration of all that is good in athletics and running across England. None of this would be possible without you as volunteer officials.

From the bottom of my heart and everyone at England Athletics, thank you for everything that you do and for motivating others to get involved in our sport to leave a legacy for others to follow in the future.quotemark end
