The Sports Club Survey is undertaken by the Alliance in partnership with Sport England that aims to assess the health of sport and recreation clubs across the country. It features questions on a variety of topics such as membership and volunteer numbers, club finances, the key challenges sports clubs are facing and a clubs' relationship with its local County Sports Partnership. Ensure your club helps to provide valuable insight!

Allerton Junior Athletes making Great strides

Athletes from Allerton Junior Athletics Club have enjoyed a series of major achievements in events up and down the country over the last six months, and their successes have not gone unnoticed with a ringing endorsement received from a former World Champion.

Club Run inspiring grass roots runners

Club Run visits have been successful over the past couple of months. Nick Anderson visiited 2 clubs recently to deliver their sessions and feeback from both Hart Road Runners and the New Forest Runners Club has been very positive. England Athletics' Club Run programme is a free series of practical coaching sessions led by coaches linked to the England Athletics coach development programmes with experience in off track running.

DW Fitness First - launch events in Gateshead and Manchester

England Athletics is launching a new partnership with DW Fitness First, the UK's leading gym and retail company. As part of this we have launch events taking place in Gateshead and Manchester. These events include activities with people such as international athlete Laura Weightman and coaches David Lowes and Phil Nichol.

Supporting Athletes with Eating Disorders - Webinar by Female Coaching Network

This webinar aims to help sports professionals and volunteers, specifically coaches, working with athletes of all ages and abilities to detect possible eating problems at an early stage as well as looking at subjects such as how coaches can contribute to reducing the eating disorder risk and how coaches can support athletes who are currently experiencing eating problems.

Do you know your Club Support Manager?

Since 1 April 2017 the Club Support Manager (CSM) role has been integral to the day-to-day running of England Athletics, particularly with regards our work in supporting our affiliated clubs. The role of the Club Support Manager is to work strategically as part of a local team to provide high-quality support and guidance to a number of affiliated clubs and groups in their patch.

Duchy Athletics Network builds track racing numbers

A series of events in the South West has been used to see a rising number of people taking part in endurance races on the track. The Duchy Athletics Network was formed in 2009 when four of the largest running and athletics clubs in Cornwall, supported by the Cornwall Sports Partnership, bid for funding to 'provide a forum for promoting athletics in Cornwall; to engender partnership and participation in the sport and to increase capacity and professionalism of clubs, volunteers and officials'.
