England Athletics are launching a series of Road Shows for the club road running community. The Road Shows are open to club officers, coaches, leaders and club members and offer an opportunity to find out more about some of the new and existing initiatives that aim to support road running clubs.
England Athletics Chief Executive Chris Jones headed along for a run at the Telford based club and met volunteers and club members. Chris was joined by Dean Hardman, England Athletics' Head of Business Partnerships and Major Events. The two headed out with two of the different groups on offer to meet different people and enjoy different sessions.
Masters runners from across the UK gathered in Birmingham over the weekend to compete in an England versus Celtic Nations match incorporated within the Simplyheath Great Birmingham 10k. 130 runners from approximately 75 affiliated clubs and representing age groups V35 through to V85, joined world class athletes, Olympians and senior England internationals on an elite start line.

This Sunday sees thousands of runners taking to the streets of London for the Virgin Money London Marathon. The event also incorporates the England Athletics Marathon championships for both individual and team medals for men and women. We wish everyone taking part the best of luck and to heed the hot weather warnings and prepare accordingly.
County championships will be taking place across England this summer. The vast majority of events will be happeningon the weekend of 12 and 13 May with some counties also arranging additional events to take place at other times.
The City of Portsmouth AC has been working very hard over the last 12 months to extend the availability of competitive sport to a wider sector. Their Super Series is to provide a competitive outlet for athletes who would not normally have regular competitive opportunity. There's also a very successful U17 / U20 squad who receive extra benefits and incentives.
The 11th Annual English Cross Country Association Open meeting will be held on Saturday 19th May at the Smart Aston Court Hotel, Derby. All Clubs affiliated to England Athletics for cross country running are eligible to attend and vote. The meeting will start at 12 noon.
The ERRA Men's 12 Stage And Women's 6 Stage National Road Relay Championships held in Association with us at England Athletics will take place at Sutton Park, Birmingham on Saturday 14th April. The Road Relays are the highlight of the calendar for many athletics and running clubs and always provide an exciting competition.
