Playful and structured PE supporting children’s wellbeing and happiness

funetics is much more than an athletics programme. The core components of run, jump and throw are fundamental to creating lifelong engagement with physical activity and supporting softer skills development that contribute to the overall social, emotional, and physical well-being of children.

From play to practice, the programme provides a safe, fun and nurturing environment for children by recognising and rewarding skills and participation.

Awards pathway

Awards

Athletics provides a unique opportunity to recognised and reward every child’s personal improvement. Whilst not everyone can win a competition, every child could achieve a personal best. To celebrate these achievements England Athletics have worked in partnership with the English Schools Athletics Association (ESAA) to help develop their Awards programme for Primary and Secondary School age children. In addition, England Athletics also provide the PB Awards for club and community-based athletics programmes. So why not celebrate every child’s personal improvement through these Awards programmes.

Teacher support and training

Teacher app

Trackable and physical literacy based

funetics leads the way with a focus on better understanding, reward and recognition. funetics is the first primary schools athletics programme to offer long term trackable physical literacy against a skills-based competency framework and the Coaches (aka Teachers App) is the agile window on your goals and the children’s participation.

Primary teacher training

Our primary PE teacher training courses and resources are designed to place running, jumping and throwing at the heart of school physical education. Through our PE teacher courses, we want to support teachers in the delivery of athletics activities in an inclusive, exciting and engaging manner.

Leader training

The leading funetics certificate enables staff to support qualified athletics coaches or teachers trained in funetics to deliver fun and inclusive athletics, by way of additional resources.

This course is also a fantastic opportunity to marry an interest in PE and athletics with the development of general leadership skills.
