Overview of Dr Kiely’s keynote

What are the key drivers of performance adaptation? And, if we more clearly understand these drivers, how can we better plan, communicate and manage training plans and processes?

The presentation will primarily focus on practical take home messages for the coach.

Overview of Dr Kiely’s session

Over the weekend, he will be delivering further practical sessions on the physical preparation of the athlete; blending coordination development and strength training. Coaches looking to gain a better understanding of strength training for the athlete will gain valuable insight into the philosophy of athlete development and practical interventions to take away and apply in their own coaching context. He will deliver this session twice to accommodate both the jumps and throws audiences and their contexts.

The England Athletics International Jumps and Throws Conference on 25 and 26 March 2023 will take place at Loughborough University and the Burleigh Court Hotel. The theme of the conference is titled, ‘Coaching the Adaptable Athlete.’ As well as featuring leading practitioners as keynote speakers, the conference will include practical sessions from those in their field of expertise, looking at the development of the athlete.

We will be confirming additional keynote speakers and guest experts attending the conference in due course.
