Step 3 – Support and mentoring

The England Athletics Officials' Development Programme has been launched and piloted in the North West, East and South West regions, as a valuable opportunity for both experienced officials and those seeking guidance to contribute to the growth and development of athletics officiating. 

The pairing of officials with 'Officials Development Champions', with emphasis on regular communication and support to enhance their development as a technical official. As a participant, you will be paired with one of our experienced champions, from your discipline, who will identify your initial goals/aspirations and any resources required to support you in achieving them. 

It is asked that programme participants are able to commit to contact and communicate with their 'champion' and this can be through any form of communication - in-person and/or virtually, as agreed by both parties.
