BIGish Jumps and Throws Fest - entries open

The annual Bedford International Games (BIG) will not be taking place this year but a new format event concentrating on field events will replace it. The BIGish Jumps and Throws Fest is on 28th May and open to all ages with minimum Standards for entry.

BIG's Carol Jackson will concentrate on the High Jump competition, with expert input from Event group coaches for other field events; Femi Akinsanya takes responsibility for the long jump and triple jump, and Malcolm Fenton has organised the discus and shot put.

As for BIG, BIGish will see top Technical Officials ensuring the highest quality of officiating, and there are of course excellent facilities at Bedford International Stadium in athlete-friendly environment. Entry for coaches is free with Spectators being asked to pay a nominal £1 entry (U16's are free).

Athlete entry procedure:

Athletes can find the entry form at www.bedfordgames.co.uk and payment should be made at time of entry £12 payable via Paypal. Closing date is midnight Wednesday 25th May, and events will be seeded after closing and athletes notified of start times.

Entry requirements:

  • Triple Jump: 10.60m women / 12.90m men
  • High Jump: 1.45m women / 1.65m men
  • Long Jump: 5.25m women / 6.50m men
  • Shot Put for Seniors and U18 athletes
  • Discus for Seniors and U18 athletes
