Sports Headphones Tester Programme 2022 is launched
#TryShokzOn, the Sports Headphones Tester Programme from our partners Shokz has launched.
To bring more people the experience of running with open-ear headphones, England Athletics and Shokz are offering everyone who enjoys running an opportunity to receive free headphones! England Athletics and Shokz are offering one Run Leader* - for off track clubs - or Coach** - for Track and Field clubs - from every England Athletics affiliated club a guaranteed pair of Shokz OpenRun Pro headphones (£159.95) for free. The recipient must have been nominated by their club.
Bone conduction sports headphones are the only headphones that are approved for use in all road races under the UK Athletics Rules of Competition. The rules are clear that 'in ear' headphones cannot be used in events where roads are open to traffic.
How it works
For LiRF, CiRF, Coaching Assistant or Athletics Coach qualified club members, via their Club Secretary
- Club Secretaries will shortly be receiving an eComms from us containing a unique referral code and a link to a registration form.
- They can nominate ONE of their Run Leaders/Coaches and give them the referral code and link.
- The nominated Run Leader/Coach then fills in the registration form.
For any member of the England Athletics family
If you are a registered Athlete or a licensed Leader, Coach or Official, you can also apply to be a headphone tester. 1500 pairs of OpenRun Pro Shokz headphones are available (testers can keep their headphones). Priority will be given to those who fill in the application form carefully and who are running club/group members or manage a running club/group.
Deadline for all applications is 8 June.
