Podcast #47: Indoor season special with Keely Hodgkinson and Trevor Painter

This episode is a journey through the indoor season, starting with 20-year-old Keely Hodgkinson who has won medals at all four major athletics championships in the last two years. Her coach Trevor Painter also explains the environment he tries to create in training to allow her to flourish. Trevor says:

"A big part of my philosophy is 'human being first'. You've got to create that happy environment. We have a lot of fun."

Also this month, highlights from the UK Athletics Indoor Championships in Birmingham featuring Sophie McKinna, Ellie Baker, Morgan Lake and Jazmin Sawyers as well as the England Athletics U15, U17 and U20 Indoor Championships with Thea Brown, Cleo Agyepong, Success Eduan and Ashley Nemits.

Youth Development Manager Scott Grace also joins to talk about the Commonwealth Youth Games and the PB Awards, a new and exciting incentive to keep young athletes in the sport.

Scott Grace says on the PB Awards:

"Only three people can take medals away from each competition. Lots of people can get PBs. As a sport it's unique for us, so why not celebrate that with giving them certificates?"
