Podcast #29: Scott Lincoln's delight after throwing Olympic standard

Episode #29 of the England Athletics podcast:

In this episode, hear Scott Lincoln's delight as the 12-time British shot put champion reacts to achieving the Olympic qualifying standard for Tokyo 2020. After his 21.28m throw in Brno in the Czech Republic this month, he said, "I'm so happy to finally get my first Olympic Games qualification, it's just been absolutely crazy!" And on his relationship with long-term coach Paul Wilson;

"It's been a long time coming, not many coaches are as patient as he is, I've been an absolute nightmare this season...it just needs someone like Paul to calm me down and get me back on the right track...I've been with Paul all the way through, he's literally got me from coming out of school and taking an interest in it, to the Olympics."

Also in this episode, we catch up with five newly-crowned champions Sabrina Sinha, Zoe Pollock, Aidan Leeson, Hannah Kelly and Samuel Clarke at the England Under-20 and Under-23 Championships in Bedford. England U23 400m Hurdles champion Zoe Pollock said,

"To have so many incredible role models to look up to is just amazing there's so much talent and to even be able to race against girls like that is just an honour."
