England Athletics' Martin Rush and Nichola Skedgel are joined by Cherry Alexander OBE for an episode about competition.
Cherry reflects on her incredible journey through the sport, including Managing Director of the London 2017 World Athletics Championships and World Para Athletics Championships as part of a 29 years at British Athletics, becoming European Athletics first female Vice-President. She outlines a key point to consider when putting on events.
"In the back of my mind for all those years was 'I'm part of somebody's dream here' and you're just trying to do the right thing and create the right environment for the athletes to perform and that's a huge motivator."
Having enjoyed the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Torun, now is a great time to look forward to what is to come in 2021. In a week where we published guidance on the return to competition, you'll hear us take positives from the last year and outline what is being planned with the aim of bouncing back from the effects of the pandemic. Says Martin Rush on the recent European Indoors:
"Training and trying to get competition has been massively compromised for everybody, so to actually see the British team go out there and just deliver, it was fabulous to watch"
