National Endurance Conference - How to Win: The Development of Power and Speed for Endurance

Venue: The Devon Hotel, Old Matford Lane, Exeter EX2 8XU

Speakers including Malcolm Brown (coach to many international athletes as well as Alistair and Jonny Brownlee), and Barry Fudge (Head of Endurance at British Athletics). The weekend takes the theme "How to Win - the development of power and speed for endurance" and has a mix of workshop, practical, discussion and networking sessions.

Regional coach and athlete workshop - Throws (Somerset)

Venue: Millfield School, Butleigh Road, Street, Somerset BA16 0YD

England Athletics will be hosting regional coach and athlete development workshops covering discus, shot, javelin, and hammer. These workshops are aimed at coaches who have completed the Athletics Coach qualification of the old level 2 and above.

Regional coach and athlete workshop - Jumps (Plymouth)

Venue: Brickfields Complex, Raglan Road, Devonport, Plymouth PL1 4NQ

A workshop covering Long Jump, Triple Jump and High Jump aimed at Coaching Assistant and Athletics Coach level. A theory session on physical preparation and planning followed by a practical session.

Regional Coach and Athlete Workshop - Endurance (Devon)

Venue: North Devon Athletics Club, Wrafton Rd, Braunton EX33

Endurance workshops looking at specific areas for endurance coaches looking to develop their athletes. This workshop will cover the basic aspects and key areas of use of anatomy in endurance: functional running anatomy, basic anatomy, gym based assessment; use of resistance bands and base squat patterns. It also includes practical applications and programming; how to progress and when to regress.

Regional Coach and Athlete Workshop - Speed 1 (Plymouth)

Venue: Brickfields Complex, Raglan Road, Devonport, Plymouth, PL1 4NQ

Covering 100m to 400m, sprint and long hurdles. 1.5 hour theory session on managing athletes in a training environment then a 1.5 hour practical session - with event specialist to identify key principles to add value and context to your coaching. Part 1 of a 2 part series.

Day one of a workshop on how to develop the movement skills which will enable your athletes to move more quickly and efficiently, generate greater force and reduce the risks of injury. This workshop is for coaches working with athletes who are club level through to aspiring to international level.
