AAA Tom Pink Relays provide stiff competition at Lee Valley

The AAA Tom Pink Relays have been bringing joy to thousands of children across the country each year since 2007. The format, which introduces athletics competition to the younger age groups, has been funded from a legacy left to the AAA by the Pink Family in memory of their son Tom, a keen athlete who was tragically killed in a car accident at the age of 18.

East Region volunteer award winners

The first of the England Athletics regonal Volunteer Awards were presented last weekend during our Age Group championships in Bedford. All 10 East Region winners received their awards on the Sunday in front of their colleagues, athletes, coaches, officials and spectators.

Development opportunities coming up for athletes and coaches

We are pleased to invite coaches and athletes to attend our upcoming Regional Coach and Athlete Days. Starting in August these days include event specific Technical Workshops, with practical sessions for coaches and athletes, as well as opportunities to share ideas and discuss key subjects.

CEO Club Visit - Orion Harriers

England Athletics' Chief Executive Chris Jones headed along to the club based in Chingford with Club Support Manager John Harris. The pair were able to meet and speak to a range of volunteers from the club which has a history dating back more than 100 years.

Top competition on the way at BIGish Jumps and Throws Fest

There will be strong competition across a range of events at Bedford International Athletics Stadium this Bank Holiday Monday as the BIGish Jumps and Throws Fest returns. High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot, Discus and Hammer will be showcased throughout the day and the event looks set for some excellent competitions.

132 participants enjoy the first ever Cambs Super Sensory 1k

On Bank Holiday Monday charity Power2Inspire held - with the Friends of Histon Rec - the first ever Super Sensory 1k outside of London as part of the annual Impington Festival of Running. Celebrating inclusion: getting disabled and non-disabled people to participate in physical activity together.
