Youth Talent Programme team to take on the elite in Germany
We are pleased to announce an England team comprised entirely of athletes on our Youth Talent Programme for the well-established Halle Throws event in Germany.
It's the first time a fully YTP team has been selected and the athletes hope to make their mark at this historic throwing competition - aiming to gain selection standards and rankings for the European U18 championships.
In addition, GB & NI are also sending a team to this event; due to the political climate in the area, the trip to the European Throwing Cup in Cyprus was cancelled. A number of English athletes will therefore still have the chance to compete at a major European competition.
Congratulations to the selected athletes!

"I’m delighted and honoured to be selected to represent my country again. It means even more to be chosen as Team Captain. Thank you for the opportunity, and I’m excited to see the performances we can deliver together as a team in Halle."
Team Leader Kat Woodcock will be working alongside Team Manager Phoebe White. She told us:
"I’m very excited to be leading the first YTP England Athletics team to Halle Throws International. We have selected a talented group of athletes representing all non-para throws disciplines. This trip offers a massive platform for them to gain elite international experience, and I am looking forward to seeing what the group can achieve in Germany."
Phoebe added:
"The Youth Talent Programme is an integral part of an athlete's development, and this will be a great opportunity for the athletes to showcase their talents and the experience they've gained from the programme. As we move towards the European U18 championships, hopefully this will allow the athletes a chance to get championship experience and achieve qualifying standards. I look forward to supporting them at this great competition."
