UKA Member Elections – nominations now open

Nominations are now open for the roles of Senior Coach Representative and Representative of Affiliated Clubs in the UKA Member Elections.

UKA Members are the formal members of UK Athletics Limited (UKA), and undertake the powers and duties as set out in the UKA Articles of Association.

Members of UKA are normally elected or nominated – dependent on the sector of the sport they represent. Elected members serve a four-year term of office and are eligible to serve a maximum of two terms of four years of office.

A new Senior Coach Representative, and a new Representative of Affiliated Clubs, will be appointed at UKA’s AGM in December 2025.

The closing date for receipt of nominations for both roles is 29 September 2025 at 5pm. You may choose to nominate yourself or another individual.

To make a nomination for either role, return the relevant nomination form below, along with a personal resume of the nominee, to a maximum of 250 words, by email to elections@uka.org.uk by the nomination deadline.

If there is only one nomination and assuming all conditions are met, then that individual will be appointed. If there is more than one nomination, then a selection process will be held.

The name of the successful nominee will be announced and appointed at the UKA AGM in December 2025 and will take up their post immediately following that appointment.

Nomination Conditions

Senior Coach Representative

  • Nominations must be in writing on the below form and received by the deadline.
  • Candidates must hold a full and valid coach licence, in accordance with the licence terms and conditions, at Athletics Coach Level (former Level 2) or above with current DBS certificate. The Candidates’ licence must not be suspended and must not have expired.
  • Coaches supporting a nomination must be in possession of a full and valid licence, in accordance with the licence terms and conditions, at Athletics Coach Level (former Level 2) with current DBS certificate. The Coaches’ licence must not be suspended and must not have expired.
  • The nomination may be made by either the candidate and supported by 4 other Coaches or another Coach and supported by at least 3 other Coaches.
  • Experience coaching athletes at GB level is desirable. Nominations breaching any of these conditions will be excluded from the process

Representative of Affiliated Clubs

  • Nominations must be in writing and received by the closing date to the email address set out above.
  • Each club is entitled to nominate or second one individual only.
  • A nomination must be signed by the person nominated.
  • A nomination must be signed by either the Chair or Secretary of the Affiliated Club making the nomination.
  • A nomination must be seconded by the Chair or Secretary of at least 4 other Affiliated Clubs.
  • The Affiliated Club making the nomination and those supporting it must together be entitled to cast at least 15 votes – see paragraph 2.1 of the UKA Election and Appointment Regulations which sets out that each Affiliated Club has weighted voting rights depending on the number of registered athletes (as at 1 August 2024) in the membership of a HCAF as follows:
  • 1-100 - 1 vote
  • 101-200 - 2 votes
  • 201-300 - 3 votes
  • 301-400 - 4 vote
  • Over 400 - 5 votes
