Two new age group changes drop-in sessions added for off-track queries

With the age group changes coming into effect tomorrow, England Athletics has been hosting a series of online drop-in sessions, to allow those within the sport to get any remaining questions answered, or queries clarified. Two new dates for these sessions have been added in for 6pm-7pm on Tuesday 26 May and Wednesday 24 June 2026.

The sessions so far have focused on track and field implementation ahead of the upcoming outdoor season, and the May and June sessions will focus more on how the changes affect the off-track running community ahead of September's cross country, trail, fell and road races.

You can watch back any of our previous track and field-focused drop-in sessions, including a hurdles-specific and a Combined Events-specific session.

Following UK Athletics’ approval of the changes in January 2024, England Athletics and the other Home Country Athletics Federations have worked to ensure that issues ahead of the April 2026 implementation, from today, are identified, rectified and understood.

These online sessions are a continuation of that process, and we encourage stakeholders to submit their questions in advance where possible, so that full and comprehensive information can be shared during the sessions.
