St Mary's Talent Hub to deliver Youth Talent Programme
England Athletics is pleased to announce that the St Mary's Talent Hub in Twickenham will be delivering the Youth Talent Programme (YTP) from this autumn.
St Mary's will be joining Birmingham University, Loughborough University and Leeds Beckett as the fourth confirmed Hub to deliver the programme to selected talented athletes from across England. The university was officially named as a Talent Hub in December 2022 and along with support from TASS (Talent Athlete Scholarship Scheme) and Sport England, has been integral in providing a training and educational environment for athletes and their personal coaches all the way through the pathway.
Speaking about the addition of St Mary's England Athletics Talent Pathways Manager, Alan Richardson, expressed his excitement:
"We are delighted that St Mary's are now able to deliver the Youth Talent Programme alongside the three other Talent Hubs. This gives athletes in London the opportunity to be part of a national programme and access the camp-based elements of the YTP in a more localised manner. As with the other Talent Hubs athletes will attend a two day national introductory camp for the whole cohort in Loughborough before completing the additional national training days at the London based university. This is now in place for the speed and endurance events from September 2024.”
Youth Talent Programme applications now open
We are currently welcoming applications from athletes born between 01/09/2007 to 31/08/2008 who have met the selection criteria.
