Richard Float: 1933-2024

The Amateur Athletic Association is sorry to hear of the death of AAA Life Vice President Richard Float who passed away on 7 October aged 91.

A long-standing member of the AAA Board, Richard acted as Financial Advisor and always gave wise council. He also acted as a Trustee for the AAA Charity for the Young for many years. Richard was an International Starter and officiated at many important meetings. He wrote the AAA instructional Manual for Starters.

He was very involved at Leicester County AA and Midland Counties AA where he was Treasurer, Chairman of Finance, Trustee and Life Member

A true gentleman who was always willing to help and advise, he will be greatly missed. Our condolences go to his family.
