Podcast #36: Joel Clarke-Khan, Eton visit and BUCS reaction

In the latest England Athletics Podcast, high jumper Joel Clarke-Khan - the 2020 British champion - joins host Alex Seftel to talk about everything from his senior international debut last year, to his 2022 Commonwealth Games ambitions. The 22-year-old also discusses representing his city of Worcester and being a model on the side.

"I know Birmingham very well, almost like my home track. If I can be there in front of not only my home crowd, but a local crowd, it would be incredible. Because it's so close to home, I think I'll have all my friends and family supporting me."

Meanwhile, CEO Chris Jones has been to Windsor Slough Eton and Hounslow Athletic Club, who have had recent success with a Sir Mo Farah-backed crowdfunding campaign in a bid for post-covid regeneration.

WSEH AC's Irene Spiller spoke about raising over £20,000 through crowdfunding to regenerate the club post-pandemic. "Getting back to a full year of athletics is very exciting. A lot of hard work, but as it gathered speed, (it was) very rewarding."

We also catch up with Jake Watson, who won pole vault gold at the British Universities' (BUCS) Indoor Athletics Championships.
