Our funetics ambassador KJT is cover girl of latest Athletics Weekly

Katarina Johnson-Thompson - world heptathlon champion and ambassador of our new funetics programme for primary school age children - graces the cover of the latest edition of Athletics Weekly.  She was interviewed by the magazine at a recent photoshoot for funetics at her home track in Liverpool.  There's a four page spread inside; she explained how she started out, her rise to Commonwealth heptatlon Gold, European gold for indoor pentathlon and her current training regime and World champion.

She also talks about her involvement with funetics - our new child-centred and inclusive funetics programme, which is specifically designed to help improve the physical literacy of primary school children. "She said, "I wish I'd had something like this when I first started - it might have saved me a lot of trouble if I'd learned how to throw a little sooner."

Our vision is for every primary school aged child in the country to be able to access funetics sessions to learn the fundamental movements skills of running, jumping and throwing via a trackable physical literacy based course, which reflects the recent government plans to address inactivity amongst children.  Together we can help strengthen the role of sport within children’s daily routine and our vision can become a reality across the nation: click here to complete the expression of interest form.
