England Athletics can today give formal notice of its 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and is pleased to confirm the numerous ways in which our clubs and member bodies can get involved.

Our Annual General Meeting will be held at 11am on Saturday 29 November at Lea Marston Hotel, Haunch Lane, Lea Marston, Sutton Coldfield, B76 0BY.

Members who cannot attend our AGM in person will be able to follow proceedings via a live stream, with a link to be shared in due course.

These options are in place to encourage as many members as possible to join what is a key cornerstone in the organisation’s communication with members.

The meeting will provide an opportunity for England Athletics to share progress, updates and plans with its membership, as the organisation continues to implement its 2021-2032 strategic plan: Athletes and runners at the heart - creating opportunities, enhancing experiences and powering potential.

England Athletics CEO, Chris Jones, said:

"Our AGM is always an important opportunity for us to share key details from in and around the organisation with stakeholders from across the sport.

"This year, we have continued to develop and facilitate activity in line with our overall strategic plan, which focuses on putting athletes and runners at the heart, creating opportunities, enhancing experiences and powering potential.

"We have a clear vision for athletics to become a more inclusive sport where everyone belongs and can flourish, a vision which is shared by each and every one of our members, so we look forward to communicating updates and sharing progress from the last year, detail of which was included in our recent annual report. The AGM is also an opportunity to look forward, to learn from the past year to help shape the future.

Looking ahead to 2026

"2026 is a particularly exciting year with a home European Track and Field Championships but also a Commonwealth Games being held in Glasgow. England Athletics will be involved in both events in differing capacities, with the former not only featuring English athletes who have developed through our talent pathway programmes, but also through the work we are planning with partners on the ground in Birmingham and the West Midlands region to inspire greater levels of community participation through the impact of the city hosting such a prestigious competition. Of course, in Glasgow, England Athletics will coordinate and manage the team that competes in the Commonwealth Games, hoping to achieve similar success to that achieved in Birmingham in 2022.

"2026 also sees the introduction of new age groups for competition across the UK and we will be not only supporting the transition of the sport across England in this regard, but will also fund and deliver competitive and development activities that support the long-term growth and retention of young people in our great sport of track and field athletics, but which also build the capacity of our coach and officiating workforce."
