New Age Groups added to the PB Awards

England Athletics is pleased to announce that the new Age Groups have been added to the PB Awards tables.

Rather than removing the previous Age Groups (U13, U15, U17), we have built on these, providing PB Awards tables for every year from U13 to U18 as well as U20 and seniors. We hope by expanding the opportunities to progress through the PB Awards we provide every athlete with greater motivation to develop in our sport.

What else is happening with the PB Awards

In addition to the new Age Groups, England Athletics has also expanded the PB Awards for U10s and U12s, with the main focus being on Triathlon and Quadrathlon Awards. The PB Awards for these age groups have also been linked to the new funetics multi challenge competition offer.

Milestone Awards

We are also introducing a new Milestone Awards certificate aimed at those athletes who have not made it onto the Level 1 standards in their event and age group.

The Milestone Awards have been made to be flexible in use and will allow clubs and competition providers to recognise and celebrate everyone.

If an athlete runs, jumps or throws a PB which is below the current awards tables, they can receive a Milestone Award to celebrate this achievement and help them move closer to a Level 1. For example, if an athlete breaks three minutes for the 800m as an U14 athlete, this would sit below the current Level 1 Award, but the Milestone Award can be used to recognise this achievement.
