John Nuttall: 1967-2023

Everyone at England Athletics is saddened to hear of the sudden passing of John Nuttall.

Tributes are pouring in from across the athletics world, with his death announced by wife and Olympic medallist, Liz McColgan.

An accomplished endurance athlete representing Great Britain at the 1996 Olympic Games and the World Championships, John was instrumental in the coaching of the endurance squad at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

In 2013, John relocated to Doha, Qatar alongside wife Liz and was most recently Head Coach at Doha Athletics Club, helping to develop the athletic talent in the region.

A much loved father, son, brother and husband, our thoughts are with all of John's family and friends at this difficult time.
