Hurdles Fest & Steeplechase Fest

The Inaugural Hurdles Fest and Steeplefest in collaboration with the Bruce Longden Coaching Foundation will be taking place at Lee Valley on Monday 27th May.

The event will showcase Elite Men's and Women's Invitational Sprint Hurdles Races and developmental hurdles races (including the rarely run 200m hurdles) for all age groups from U13 through to senior. There will also be steeplechase events for U17 Men, U17 Women, U20 Women (all 1500m) and U20 Men (2000m). These events have been designed to assist those athletes seeking to gain English Schools' AA standards.

National Speed lead for England Athletics James Hillier said, "For a number of years we have wanted to create a hurdle specific event where there is some coach CPD in the morning followed by some great athletics in the afternoon.  England Athletics feel that this will be a truly ground-breaking event and will encourage a large number of young athletes to have a go at the hurdles events."

England Athletics' National lead for Endurance Spencer Duval commented, "There has long been an association between steeplechase and hurdles and England Athletics are especially proud to be supporting this exciting new event."
