How to make the most of your club affiliation with England Athletics
England Athletics recently announced its affiliation fees for 2026, and we want to make sure clubs know how to get the most out of your affiliation with us. Here are some of the ways how you can do so:
Access insurance and a free legal helpline
As an England Athletics affiliated club, you receive up to £50 million Public Liability insurance cover. You can find out more details of your cover here.
Affiliated clubs can also access 30 minutes free legal advice from Muckle using the helpline of 0191 211 7797, and email of englandathletics@muckle-llp.com.

As an affiliated club, you receive discount on education courses, qualifications and ongoing development opportunities for your coaches and leaders.
Visit Athletics Hub to find courses and opportunities near youGet a minimum £2 discount on entry fees for licensed road and multi-terrain events
Your registered athletes can get a minimum £2 discount on entry fees for road and multi-terrain events licensed through RunEvents.
Your club can also:
- License a Road or Multi-Terrain event for only £50
- License Track and Field or Cross-Country events for free
- Gain access to nearly 5,000 safe and insured licensed races and competitions throughout England
Gain access to free London Marathon places
London Marathon provide free London Marathon event places every year to be accessed by registered athletes in England Athletics affiliated clubs.
London Marathon Events will contact clubs by email with details on how to claim these places.

Our Club Support Managers can help you unlock key benefits to your affiliation, provide dedicated support with club development matters, and give you expert advice and guidance, helping you make decisions that are best for your club.

Created by the England Athletics Club Support Team, the Club Leadership Programme is designed to help clubs become safe, sustainable, and welcoming places for everyone.
The programme is ideal for club committee members who want to learn how to lead effectively and make a positive impact. It’s especially suited to those who are new to leadership or preparing to take on a leadership role in the future.
Affiliated clubs can apply for two free places on the programme, which has recently opened for applications.

Our Club Improvement Fund provides grants of up to £500 to support clubs with projects that aim to reduce some of the barriers they are facing.
The fund recently closed for applications but will reopen in 2026.

Get a free Coaching Assistant place, and free officials' course for parents of all U10/U12 registered athletes
We’ve developed a reward scheme for free club places on a Coaching Assistant course. For every 30 U10/U12 athletes registered in 2026, affiliated clubs will receive a free place on a Coaching Assistant course which can be allocated to a member of their club.
Registered U10/U12s will receive an electronic pack, as well as an offer for their parents/guardians to attend a Leading Athletics or officials course free of charge which will encourage parents to volunteer at their child’s club.
Get early bird ticket access to major events via British Athletics
Registered athletes can also gain early bird ticket access to watch major athletics events through British Athletics.

Reinvesting into our sport
England Athletics is a not-for-profit organisation - over 80% of membership fee income is reinvested directly into our key delivery priorities of club development, coaches' and officials' development, the support of competition delivery, the support of the retention of athletes and participation growth, and investment in talent.
This includes:
- The development of funetics multi-challenge and of Sportshall Athletics
- Investment in competitions across the country - such as YDL and ESAA.
- Establishment and ongoing investment in Personal Best Foundation
