Great performances for para-athletes in Paris

The WPA Paris Grand Prix is a prestigious event on the calendar with some of the best athletes from across the world competing.  We were very excited to have a strong team of 7 athletes competing, some opening their season whilst others were continuing momentum of recent events.

In the sprints, India Oates (Darlington Harriers, Joseph McDonnell, T35) and Rosie Porter (Herts Phoenix, Catherine Walker, T38) came away with season's best performances in the 200m and 100m respectively. Euan Murray (Team Bath, Graham Mattacks) finished in 3rd place overall in the T64 100m with 12.07 - his second fastest time after last month's Loughborough International PB (pictured warming up pre-event).

On the field Adam Rutter (Worcester, Lydia Church, F44 ) threw a discus season's best to place 3rd, while Luke Sinnott (T61) , Molly Kingsbury (T37), and Samuel Jose (T20)  finished 4th, 5th and 6th in their long jumps.

Team Leader Shani Palmer said:

"It was a pleasure to lead this fantastic group of para athletes at the HandiSport Grand Prix. Their focus and commitment to competing for England was outstanding and I look forward to seeing them progress throughout the season."
